Lorenzo won the pole position for the Japanese Grand Prix after a tight
battle with closest rival, Dani Pedrosa, the qualifying session
Saturday, October 13, 2012, at the Motegi Circuit.
After engaging competition during practice sessions yesterday and this morning, Lorenzo finally established itself as a favorite in this weekend's Japanese Grand Prix. Despite continued taped Pedrosa, MotoGP standings leader appeared calm to reach the pole.
Lorenzo managed to record time of 1 minute 44,969 seconds to put himself in the forefront in the race tomorrow grid, while Pedrosa just 0246 seconds adrift of the Yamaha rider.
Cal Crutchlow managed to shift the dominance of Ben Spies in the top three. Monster Yamaha Tech 3 rider managed to go faster 0079 seconds from Spies. Alvaro Bautista Andrea Dovizioso and stalking behind the grid fills five and six.
Casey Stoner still could not find the rhythm again to be the best after the seventh fastest. Honda rider is able to perform faster than Stefan Bradl and Ducati duo Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden, who filled the top 10.
In the race on Sunday, October 14, 2012, two new faces will be on the start grid. Yamaha test rider, Katsuyuki Nakasuga, given the wild-entry to fight in the cage, while Roberto Rolfo will replace Mattia Pasini in Speed Master CRT club. viva
