Within hours, the Barcelona European Super Cup against FC Porto will be held, Friday, August 26, 2011 (Saturday morning GMT). Barca as the champion of the Champions League 2010-11 will serve Europa League champions, Porto, at the Stade Louis II, Monaco.
UEFA officially appointed referee Bjorn Kuipers from the Netherlands as a court. He will be accompanied by two assistants, Erwin Zeinstra Simons and Berry, as a linesman and Bas Nijhuis as fourth official.
Kuipers claimed the appointment was made glad because it was never previously suspected. "This is a pleasant surprise. I was very excited when the appointment of the Super Cup," said Kuipers as reported by the official UEFA website.
"When I marched into the game, I am proud to be thought how wonderful to be here."
Kuipers is the referee who has several times led the international-class matches. Previously, Kuipers which also owns supermarkets in South Holland has been leading the final of the U-17 European Championship in 2006 and U-21 in 2009.
