Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger stunned as she watched the foster children were massacred Manchester United 2-8, Sunday, August 28, 2011. Since the first half, Arsenal had conceded three goals.
Sign the second half, the Gunners increasingly saggy after conceding five goals. One player, Carl Jenkinson also sent off after roughing United players Javier Hernandez. After the match, Wenger did not conceal her disappointment and embarrassment.
"After a game like that is very painful. It's sick, shameful," Wenger said as reported by Goal. "We have shortages in some areas, there are eight of our players are absent and they are all classy. They (MU) with the goal to punish us."
Nevertheless, Wenger was reluctant to leave his job as manager of the Gunners. He asserted that when presented reasonable criticism, but did not make him escape from a position which he held for 15 years.
"I was in jobs that the public views. I have to accept (criticism). I made the right decision for the club and I will continue to do that," he added.
