Ferguson was pleased to resolve Ronaldo's future and he follows the likes of Darren Fletcher, Paul Scholes and John O'Shea in signing new deals. "It represents our faith in young players at the club and Ronaldo will develop into a fantastic player," said Ferguson. "We have worked hard over the last six months on securing a contract, there were no problems but with his agent being in Portugal it was all to do with timings.
"This is great news for the club and for the fans."
This is great news ofr everyone at Man United because Ronaldo has been one of the few bright sparks at Old Trafford in recent years. Ronaldo is only 20 years of age and I believe that this is a good deal for his carrer and I think he may event stay longer than that contract suggests. Obviously this is a great day at Old Trafford because the captain has left by mutual concent but at least this will brighten the spirits at the club a little.
