This was Women's doubles quarter finals day and a major shock when unseeded pair Elena Vesnina and Vera Zvonareva beat the top seeds Serena and Venus Williams 3-6 6-3 6-4.

The other results were;
Gisela Dulko and Flavia Pennetta (4) beat Julia Goerges and Agnes Szavay 6-2 6-2.
Liezel Huber USA and Bethanie Mattek-Sands (5) beat Lisa Raymond and Rennae Stubbs (7) 6-4 6-3.
Vania King and Yaroslava Shvedova beat Kveta Peschke and Katarina Srebotnik (6) 3-6 7-5 6-3.
