Manchester City are to go on a massive spending spree once the January transfer window opens with Gianluigi Buffon, Kaka and Fernando Torres all on their wish-list. City boss Mark Hughes is to be given a massive £100 million transfer kitty for January and they are already trying to persuade some of football's biggest names.Since the arrival of Robinho on the final day of the summer transfer window, City have been linked with dozens of player's, however it is now thought that the Premier League club are beginning to whittle down their targets. City's new owners, Abu Dhabi-United group, have promised to spend big in their efforts to make City the biggest club in the world, with Kaka, Buffon and Torres all attracting interest.
Although I would love for City to sign all these players (I'm a City fan!) I just can't see it happening. I feel it will be at least another season or two before we can really start to think of signing these players. The signing of Robinho has really lifted the expectation at Eastlands but I think we should all try and keep our feet on the ground for a little while anyway, including the owners.
