Sunerland are in Wonderland

Sunderland have today won their first game in the Premiership since 2002 and it came at the expence of their North East rivals Middlesborough. Sunderland came into the game rock bottom of the Premier League and with only one point from their opening 6 games. Sunderland started very very brightly when they opened the scoring on 1 minute with a goal from summer signing Tommy Miller. It was a neat finish that hit the post on the way in. Sunderland keeper Kelvin Davis who has come in for some critiscim in the last few weeks was one of the heros today with a string of saves in the first-half and he wasn't really presured in the second-half.

Arca was really over the moon with his free-kick

Sunderland got what they deserved mid way through the secong-half when they were awarded a free-kick just on the edge of the box and man of the match Julio Arca curled it right into the top corner. At the end of the game you could really see the delight in Sunderland boss Mick McCarthy face, his side actually won. Final Score Middlesborough 0-2 Sunderland.

This result will really lift the whole Sunderland team and maybe now they can go on some sort of run. Middlesborough really didn't play well and they deserved what they got with the result. Although I'm not a Sunderland fan I am very happy for them.
