Hammers continue good start to the season

West Ham today defeated Fulham 2-1 to continue their great start to the new Premiership season after being promoted last season. West Ham's Marlon Harewood continued his good form when he opened the scoring on 46 minutes with a delitful goal that saw him pass through Fulham defender Zat Knight and then lifted the ball over Fulham keeper Tony Warner. Harewood scored a hat-trick against Aston Villa on Monday and it looks as though he is in the mood this season for goals after today's goal.

West Ham went two in front just five minutes later after Fulham goalkeeper Tony Warener scored an unlucky own goal after West Ham's Paul Konchesky fired a croos into Marlon Harewood and he had a shot that hit the post and then hit Warener and in. Fulham pulled a goal back on 66 minutes with a fine individual effort from Portugese international Luis Boa Morte. Final score Fulham 1-2 West Ham.

West Ham are looking good so far this season and I think that they will comfortablly avoid relagation. Bad result for Fulham but I think they will also be alright this season despite what the papers say. I think Marlon Harewood was great in the Championship for West Ham last year and it looks as though he has carried the same kind of form into the Premeirship
