Harewood Hammers Hopeless Villa

Premiership new boys West Ham have tonight hammered Aston Villa 4-0 thanks to a hat-trick by Marlin Harewood and a injury time Yossi Benayoun strike. To be fair Aston Villa were hopeless but I can't take anything away from West Ham because they put in a great performance. Harewood opened the scoring on 25 minutes with a neat finish and he then netted again in the 29 minute with a clever flick past Villa keeper Sorenson.

Harewood certainly silenced the travelling support

Villa were playing several new faces in the side tonight including James Milner and Wilfred Bouma but they certainly didn't gel tonight. Harewood's hat-trick came on 50 minutes but it came from a bit of an error from Sorenson but the finish was half decent. Harewood 26 has recently been asked questions of his performance's in the Premiership this season by the media but tonight he has certainly answered his critics. West Ham completed the route on 89 minutes with a great finish by Israeli international Yossi Benayoun.

Good performance for West Ham but for Villa but for, I have to say they were nothing short of pathetic. It is good to see Harewood getting a hat-trick after he was recently critisised in the press. Great start to the season for West Ham after their promotion to the Premiership.
