Fulham Spoil Owen's Big Day

Fulham left St. James' Park today with a very good point against a Newcastle side with £17million man Micheal Owen playing in his debut for the club. The first goal was scored by American striker Brain McBride after the Newcastle defence made a comedy of errors. Owen was very queit for Newcastle in the first half. Newcastle lost Albert Luque in the first half after he picked up what looked to be a very bad injury and he is set to be out of action for the next six weeks.

Owen's debut didn't go to plan

Newcastle defender Steven Taylor was also taken off due to injury after he collided with the post. Owen was responsible for the free kick which led to Newcastle scoring an equaliser from Charles N'Zogbia but the Fulham keeper didn't do much to save it. Newcastle midfielder Scott Parker was sent off for two yellow cards that were probably right decisions by the ref. By the way this was Newcastle first goal of the season.

Newcastle need to up their game if they are going to acheive anything this season. Fulham in the end were a bit unlucky only to take away 1 point because they hit the wood-work a couple of times and also Newcastle only had ten men for the last few minutes. I believe Newcastle boss Graeme Souness is in real danger of losing his job already!
