Gera breaks Black Cats hearts

Zoltan Gera scored a last minute equaliser to ensure West Brom took a point away from Premiership new boys Sunderland. Sunderland took the lead after 7 minutes when the Black Cats captain Gary Breen headed home from a beautitful set piece by Dean Whitehead. Sunderland dominated the rest of the second half and could of went two in front but Arca missed cued his shot.

It looked as though Sunderland were going to end a twenty five game run in the Premirship were they have not won but it just wasn't to be and West Brom midfielder Zoltan Gera rose to finsh a neat header past Sunderland goalkeeper Kelvin Davis. Final score Sunderland 1-1 West Brom.

Unlucky for Sunderland and if they want to stay up this season then they must win these type of games against the lower sides, with all due respect to West Brom. Sunderland deserved the win but they just didn't finish off the game. I fear for Sunderland's survival in the Premiership but I think West Brom should be alright.
