Chelsea win top of the table clash

Chelsea maintained their 100% start to the new season with a 2-0 win to end Charlton's 100% start. The first half didn't produce much and the sides went in level at the break. Chelsea looked in good shape all through the game and they got their first goal on 55 minutes when Micheal Essien put a superb ball into the box and Hernan Crespo finished with a neat header past Charlton keeper Stephan Andersson. Before the goal the goal Chelsea were dominating and it continued after the goal as well.

A second goal seemed inevitable and it came on 60 minutes when Damien Duff played a nice pass to Arjen Robben and he let fly with his left foot and it went sailing into the top corner of Charlton's goal. Frank Lampard made his 100th consecutive appearance today and it wasn't quite the performance he would of hoped for. Final score Charlton 0-2 Cheslea.

Good result for Chelsea and I personally believe that they will win the title this season for a second consecutive time. Charlton have got of to a great start to the season but I think this will bring them back down to earth after a 100% start to the season. It was good to see Robben getting his first goal of the season because he has been very quiet so far for Cheslea.
