Magpies new boy on the score sheet in impressive win

Newcastle today beat Blackburn at Ewood Park 3-0 and their £17 million man Michael Owen got on the score sheet. The first half was a midfield battle with neither side creating much chances. The game really came to life when Blackburn old boy Alan Shearer scored a trade mark free kcik to put the visitors in front. Just four minutes later Shearer's new striking partener Micheal Owen scored his first goal for the club with a neat header past Brad Freidel.

Newcastle were reduced to ten men five minutes later when Steven Talyor recieved a second yellow card for a tug on Newcastle old boys' shirt Craig Bellamy. Then everybody thought it would give Blackburn to make a come back but instead they conceded again to a goal scored by young French man Charles N'Zogbia. Final score Blackburn 0-3 Newcastle.

Dissapointing result for Blackburn being the home side but great result for Newcastle and a timely one to for Magpies boos Graeme Souness who has been tipped to be sacked in recent weeks. I am really glad to see Michael Owen scoring for Newcastle and I hope he goes on to score many more goals this season.
