Bernard joins Rangers

Oliver Bernard has signed for Scotish side Rangers on a two year deal. Now you all may be wondering: I thought the transfer window was shut, but The 25 year old Fenchman was allowed join Rangers because of his free agent status. Several other clubs were intrested in the player including Birmingham and Bolton but he has decided to go North to Scotland.

Bernard spent five years at Newcastle

Rangers want Bernard to replace Michael Ball who joined Dutch side PSV Eindhoven on deadline day. Bernard was unable to help his former club Southampton stay up last season and they ended up been relagated to the Championship. Oliver Bernard joined Southampton from Newcastle last season on a free transfer.

In my opinion Bernard isn't a good player and I think maybe the Scotish league might just suit him in some respects. Bernard didn't do to much for Southampton last term and he wasn't a great player at Newcastle either. Rangers were silly to let Ball join PSV last night and I don't think Bernard can fill his shoes.
