Tottenham's move to bring Robbie Keane back to North London appears to be gathering pace after it was revealed that the player will undergo a medical in the next few hours. The Republic of Ireland international has been strongly linked with a move back to White Hart Lane after falling out of favour at Anfield with Reds boss Rafa Benitez.
The 28-year old has scored just 7 goals since his £20 million move last July and it would appear as though now he has made his last appearance in a Liverpool shirt. Harry Redknapp is desperate to bring another striker to the club after it was revealed that Jermain Defoe may be out of action for some time and now Keane looks likely to arrive.
Meanwhile, Arsenal's chances of signing Zenit St Petersburg playmaker Andrei Arshavin remain in doubt. The Russian international arrived in London last night in order to discuss terms with the Gunners, however talks broke down this morning and it was reported that Arshavin was on his way back to the airport but it has since been revealed that talks between Arsenal and the 27-year old are ongoing.
Interesting developments in both potential moves. Both of these transfer saga's have dragged on for quite some time and it looks as though now that one deal (Keane to Spurs) looks certain to happen and one (Arshavin to Arsenal) looks slightly less likely. It will be very interesting to see how both of these moves develop over the next few hours so stay tuned to Football Corner for all the latest.
