It has today been reported in various papers that AC Milan are set to win the race to sign Inter striker Adriano. The news comes after West Ham United were said to be very keen on making a offer for the Brazilian come the opening of the January transfer window and this news obviously dents Hammers boss Alan Curbishley's chances of signing the powerhouse of a striker.West Ham were said to of been very close to agreeing a deal for the 25 year old during the summer but unfortunately for the club things didn't materialise. The striker is apparently unsettled at Inter and in search of a move and that has alerted West Ham but now AC are said to be very interested in him, I can only see one outcome.
Obviously a player like Adriano wants to play at the highest level and at AC he will still be able to play Champions League football whereas at the Hammers he can't even play in the UEFA Cup. It is rumoured that whoever wants to sign him will have to cough up £17 million and that in my mind is a little bit much for a player that has promised so much and yet has failed to live up to the media and indeed the publics hype about him.
