Women's Tennis Birmingham update

A busy time in Birmingham after the rain delays of the last few days. Here are a few selected results.

M Lucic (remember her? A semi finalist at Wimbledon in 1999) beat K Sprem 6-3 5-7 7-6 (7-3) and then was beaten by A REZAI 7-5 6-3.

Y WICKMAYER (3) beat L Robson 7-5 6-4 and then went on to beat T Tanasugarn 6-4 6-4 after T TANASUGARN (14) had beaten S Mirza 4-6 7-5 6-1,

M SHARAPOVA (2) beat B Mattek-Sands 6-0 6-3 and then went on to beat A Kudryavtseva 6-3 6-1.
