Man United and Fulham battle out five goal thriller

Manchester United won their first Barclays Premiership game in four matches in a magnificent match against Fulham at Craven Cottage. Fulham's Collins John put his side ahead just one minute into the game with a deflected finish to put it past former Fulham goal kepper Edwin Van Der Sar. But United fought back strongly and were awarded a penalty on 17 minutes when United winger Ji-Sung Park was brought down in the box and United striker Ruud Van Nistelrooy slotted home.

Just two minutes later and the visitors were level when Ji-Sung Park played Wayne Rooney through and he shot home past Fulham keeper Mark Crossley. But Fulham got an equaliser on 28 minutes when poor defending by Rio Ferdinand left United keeper no chance with saving the cross from Claus Jensen. Ruud Van Nistelrooy rapped up the game for Unkited on the stroke of half time after the Fulham defence failed to intercept a low pass on the edge of the box and the big Dutch man grabbed his second of the game to hand the points to United. Final score Fulham 2-3 Manchester United.

United really needed this win and they got it but it wasn't all plain sailing because Fulham did put up a good fight. It is good to see Ruud Van Nistelrooy back in scoring form because when he starts scoring he really starts scoring. This win leaves United in fourth spot and the loss leaves Fulham just outside the relagation spot in 17th.
