Speculation mounts as to Lee's successor

Sammy Lee has today left Bolton Wanderers football club by mutual consent. He only took over the side at the back end of last season but has only managed to achieve five points from a possible twenty seven on offer so far this season. It had been highly speculated in the media that he wouldn't last til Christmas and that has proved to be the case.

So with little Sam gone, who will become the next Trotters' manager. Well the bookies have Paul Jewell the early favourite but will he turn out to be the next Bolton gaffer. Well I have a funny feeling that Gary Speed may be put in temporary charge until Phil Gartside decides on who he will offer the permanent job.

Peter Reid is another candidate and I wouldn't bet against him returning to management at the Reebok. Chris Coleman has also been mentioned and I feel he may yet get the nod. He left Fulham at the end of last season after a disappointing run of results and joined Real Sociedad, but I feel he may be interested in a speedy return to England.
