Sven Goran Eriksson has quite possibly pulled of one of the biggest steals in Premier League transfer history by signing Blumer Elano from Shakhtar Donetsk in the summer. He cost the Swede 8 million pounds which is looking like it has turned out to be great value for money. The Brazilian put in another stupendous display today when City defeated Middlesbrough 3-1 at the City of Manchester.The 26 year old bagged two goals today to earn the man of the match award today and he put in an equally good display last week at home to Newcastle were he scored an exquisite free-kick from 30 yards. Many people questioned Eriksson's desicion to spend 8 million on a player that not everyone had heard of but Sven has been richly rewarded for this risk.
He has been playing as an attacking midfielder at City which is the perfect place to have him because the way in which he links up with the midfield and strikers in sensational. As you may of noticed I have been running a pole as to who is the best summer signing and it is no surprise at all to see that Elano is certainly proven to be a popular vote. I feel if Elano stays fit throughout the season City will have no trouble in finishing in the top 6.
