Chelsea defender Paulo Ferreira is heading across London to West Ham United to complete the formalities of a move to the Hammers. The Portuguese international has struggled to nail down a first team place in the Chelsea first team since the arrival of fellow countryman Jose Bosingwa at Stamford Bridge this summer.
Ferreira, 29, was signed by former Blues boss Jose Mourinho four years ago for a fee of £13.2 million. West Ham boss Alan Curbishley is keen to add to his defensive options after seeing Anton Ferdinand leave Upton Park for Sunderland last week and Ferreira is believed to be high on his list of targets.
I personally believe Ferreira could prove to be a terrific signing for West Ham. I feel Ferreira is a terrific player and I think it is vital for him to play first team football in the Premier League week in week out.
