Mike Ashley is preparing to sell Newcastle United after losing his popularity with the fans, by forcing Kevin Keegan out the door earlier this week. It all looked so promising for the club when Ashley took over just a year ago, with many Magpies fans happy to see the new owner mixing with the supporters on Newcastle's away trips, but now it looks inevitable he will be forced out by the same fans he mingled with every week. The billionaire retail entrepreneur promised to invest heavily in the club when he took the reins last July, but sadly for the Newcastle fans, the biggest signing they saw come in the door at St James' Park was Fabricio Collocini for a fee of £10 million.
Now that sounds like a big signing but considering Manchester City's recent activity in the market (buying Robinho for a whopping £32 million) I personally think Ashley may of invested a bit more than what he has done. So what next for the club, well it was reported earlier this summer that a company owned by family members of Bin Laden were interested in taking over the club, so there may be a renewed interest from them after hearing this news.
