West Ham confirm Zola as new manager

Gianfranco Zola has been confirmed as the new West Ham United manager. The former Chelsea striker has been heavily linked with the job at Upton Park ever since Alan Curbishley left last Wednesday.

The Italian magician is regarded by many as a Chelsea legend and some Hammers fans have spoke of their unrest at Zola's appointment. Many have claimed they would of preferred West Ham legend Paolo Di Canio to return to the club.

Zola, in my view, is a good appointment for the East London club. He done a excellent job during his time as the Italy under-21 international and I feel if he gets the fans backing early he could prove to be a real success.
