Hammers legend on his way back to Upton Park?

Former West Ham striker Paolo Di Canio has this afternoon confirmed he is interested in the vacant position at Upton Park. The Italian legend spent five very successful years at the East London club, where he became a firm fan favourite during his time at the club.

After Alan Curbishley's departure on Wednesday, several of the bookies favourites have ruled themselves out of the race for the managerial post, including Slaven Bilic and Stuart Pearce. Di Canio is currently the 9/2 second favourite with the bookies and that now sounds like great value, considering his admission he now wants the job.

I think it would be great to see Di Canio return to the Upton Park, and indeed the Premier League after five years away. After leaving the Hammers he joined Charlton and then returned to his homeland and signed for Lazio before making his final move to Cisco Roma.
