Manchester City are to make a January bid for Portsmouth midfielder Lassana Diarra. The French international has been a long term target of Harry Redknapp's Tottenham but it is now thought that City are leading the race for the former Arsenal man.
Diarra, 23, has impressed during his time on the South Coast with Pompey and is currently valued at around £15 million. New Pompey boss Tony Adams is now resigned to losing Diarra after it was reported that Pompey will need to let go of players in order to balance the books at Fratton Park.
Personally, I feel Diarra is a quality holding midfield player and he would prove to be a solid addition for either side in question. It has been rumoured that City could offer Diarra a massive £85,000 a week contract and that is why I think he may just opt to move to Eastlands rather than White Hart Lane.
Diarra costs just £4 million in this season's "You the Manager". Now that must be a bargain. Follow the link below to register your team to be in with a chance of winning some terrific monthly and weekly prizes.
