Arsenal and Tottenham are to go head-to-head for Wolves goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey. The Welsh international has been a long-term target of both North London clubs and with Hennessey currently struggling to keep his place in Mick McCarthy's starting eleven a January move may be on the cards.
The 21-year old is widely regarded as one of the best keepers outside of the Premier League and both Harry Redknapp and Arsene Wenger are ready to meet Wolves' valuation of £5 million for the player. Spurs boss Redknapp is keen to bring in Hennessey to replace Heurelho Gomes who has been simply awful since his summer move from Dutch giants PSV.
Arsenal have conceded 18 goals in just 14 games this season and Gunners boss Wenger is ready to bring in Hennessey to try and correct that problem. I would be very surprised to see Hennessey still at Molineux come the start of February. He is a top class keeper, who I feel would prove an excellent signing for either Arsenal or Spurs, although I think he may opt for Spurs if he has the choice only because he would have a better chance of first team football at White Hart Lane.
