Portsmouth are set to make an approach for Germany and Schalke striker Kevin Kuranyi in the January transfer window according to reports today in the Daily Mirror.Kuranyi joined the Bundesliga side from Stuttgart in 2005 and has done extremely well for Schalke ever since. The German international has managed to net 36 times in his 92 appearances for the club and in turn helping them to a Champions League place.
Kuranyi also plays with the German national side and has impressed the nations fans by scoring 19 times in his 42 appearances.
It does seem hard to believe that Kuranyi would leave a Champions League level club for Premier League side Portsmouth but it is always a possibility.
If the rumour was to come through I think that it would be a great signing for Pompey. However there is good chance that the Brazilian born striker will be quite costly for the club.
