Chelsea have today told Newcastle United that they will have to pay £2 million for defender Tal Ben Haim.
The former Bolton centre-back used to play under current Newcastle boss Sam Allardyce at the Reebok and Big Sam is keen to bring the Israeli to St. James' Park.
Ben Haim joined Chelsea in the summer on a free transfer from Bolton but has since then failed to show his very best form and that has led to intense speculation over his future.
There is no doubt Allardyce is looking for a top class defender after his bid for Wes Brown was rejected today. I feel Ben Haim would be a good addition to the Magpies side and £2 million isn't really a lot for the 25-year old.
