According to reports in the Daily Mail today, the FAI are interested in making former Liverpool boss Gerard Houllier the new Republic of Ireland manager. To be honest I would be pretty pleased with Houllier taking over the Irish post. He has a number of good qualities as a manager, the best being he's not Terry Venables.

Ireland finally close on new manager
According to reports in the Daily Mail today, the FAI are interested in making former Liverpool boss Gerard Houllier the new Republic of Ireland manager.
