According to various papers today, Newcastle manager Kevin Keegan is chasing Chelsea winger Shaun Wright-Phillips.Wright-Phillips used to work under Keegan at Manchester City and Keegan is said to be very keen on making him his first signing at St James' Park.
Wright-Phillips left City almost three years ago now and has only played just over 70 games in that period. Many people questioned Wright-Phillips decision to join the Blues in the first place and many people felt he needed to move to get more first-team football.
Wright-Phillips was a fantastic player whilst at City but unfortunately it hasn't worked out the way he would of liked at Stamford Bridge. He has starting playing some decent stuff in recent weeks but no where near his best. I feel it would be a good move for both player and club.
