Newcastle are targeting Spurs striker Jermain Defoe according to reports in The Sun today. However Aston Villa, City and Liverpool have also been linked with the England international. Defoe has somewhat struggled to get his place in the Spurs line ups this season but the striker still holds the record for goals per minutes in the Premier League, so it is not to say that he is off form. However, even still, Juande Ramos reportedly said that the striker is no longer needed at White Hart Lane.
He has proved that he is a decent goal scorer, and his record proves that with 43 goals in 143 appearances for Spurs, and that is the reason that the striker has been linked with the likes of City and Liverpool
It is thought that Defoe will cost any of the above clubs between £8 million and £10 million.
