"There's no truth whatsoever that I have had a bust-up with Roy or any of the other players," blasted Kerr. "I don't do bust-ups with players. I have a very good relationship individually and professionally with all the players. "We discuss things openly and they give their point of view if they have one." Kerr insisted that the players going to a nightclub on the Friday was not in any way against the rules.
"It was the equivalent of five days before the game that some of the players chose to go out for a drink, although some of them didn't have a drink," said Kerr. "If the France game was on a Saturday, it would be the equivalent of the players going out with their families and friends on a Monday night, and I'd have no problem with that.
"We had a meal together and the players had the option of a free evening to go out if they wanted. There was no curfew. "We've a disciplined squad. They train hard, play hard and work hard, and I've no problems with morale, professionalism or desire to do well in matches."
Ireland face a tough World Cup qualifier with France on Wednesday and this is the last thing they need. Brain Kerr is a good and honest manager and I believe him that their was no bust-up. This could be a case of paper never refusing ink.
