UnLuque for Newcastle

Newcastle's new signing Albert Luque has been ruled out of action for up to two months with a hamstring injury picked up in Newcastle's game against Fulham last week. The Spanish forward only joined The Magpies from Deportivo La Coruna towards the end of the summer transfer window for a fee of £9.5million. Toon boss Graeme Souness initially said that Luque would be out for six weeks but scans have revealed a ruptured hamstring that will result in eight to ten weeks on the sidelines.

The news will be another big blow for Souness who has seen fellow new signing Emre pick up an injury early in his Newcastle career. Luque also joins Kieron Dyer, Craig Moore and Michael Chopra on the treatment table, but Steven Taylor hopes to return to fitness for Sunday's trip to Blackburn. Luque made a good impression in his first two games since he has signed for Newcastle and now magpies boss Graeme Souness will be utterly frustrated as the club goes in search of their first win of the season.

This is a big blow for Newcastle because they haven't won a game all season and Luque was just starting to play well for them. Luque is a good player and Newcastle will certainly miss him while he is out. The Magpies paid £9.5million for Luque and now he is already out for two months, unluque.
