Heinze blow

Manchester United defender Gabriel Heinze has been ruled out for "most" of the season due to a knee injury he picked up in United's Champions League game against Villareal on Wednesday. Heinze limped off in United's game on Wednesday and further scans have revealed that his cruciate ligament has been damaged. News of the Argentine's absence will come as a major blow to Sir Alex Ferguson, who has watched the full back emerge as a firm fans favourite since arriving from France.

Kieron Richardson is expected to deputise for the South American this weekend, but Ferguson is aware that he will miss the drive and tenacity of Heinze. United paid £6.8 million for the player in June of last year and he has quickly become a key man at Old Trafford.

I personally believe United will miss Heinze because he has put in some great performances since joining United from PSG. Heinze is still only 28 and I believe he will go on for quite a long time to come, although I think this injury may effect his game when he comes back from this terrible injury.
