Fifa became involved after negotiations reached an absolute impasse, where after a lengthy investigation, the 19-year-old was ordered to return to Norway. Lyn director Morgan Andersen has indicated that United fully expect to have their latest signing delivered in the New Year.

Andersen also continued to reiterate that Lyn have now built bridges with Mikel's agent, John Shittu, and that they are keen to welcome back their stay-away star. This transfer should have been done ages ago but sadly the tale still goes on. From what I have heard Obi Mikel is a good player and that is why there has been so much intrest in him by European clubs. Obi Mikel is only 19 years old and I would like to see how he fairs in the Premiership.
