I personally believe Van Persie's sending off was a little bit harsh because he had his eye on the ball most of the time. Rooney was just silly and deserved to go and I saw Man United boss Sir Alex Ferguson's reaction and I can just say he was not at all happy with Rooney. I didn't see the Patrick Vieira incident but I have heard it was deserved.

Vieira, Rooney and Van Persie all see Red
Patrick Vieira, Wayne Rooney and Robin Van Persie were all sent off tonight in their side's Champions League group matches. Patrick Vieira saw red in Juventus' away game against Club Brugge for a second bookable offence but Juve still went on to win 2-1 thanks to goals from Pavel Nedved and David Trezeguet. Rooney was sent off after a bizzare incident were he was booked for a challenge and he then made a smart gesture to the ref and was sent off, his side Man United went on to draw 0-0. Van Persie recieved a straight red card after he went up for a challenge with a high foot and caught FC Thun's Orman in the face.
