Sven has the backing the of Glenn
Hoddle claims he was under similar pressure during his time as England boss and feels Eriksson has the qualities to lead The Three Lions out of their current slump. "I was manager and we lost to Italy at Wembley," the Wolves chief told Sky Sports News. "Italy was not Northern Ireland and we had to go to Italy, but we were out. "But we won the group and we qualified and I think we will do the same under Sven and this group of players."
Is it time for Sven to go?
Hoddle believes the adverse press coverage will not faze the Swedish tactician. "Sven is wily enough and experienced enough and anyone who takes the job knows you take the good with a pinch of salt and take the bad with a pinch of salt as well," added Hoddle. "The major people are The FA. They have got to stick by him and if they think he is the right man, they have to be strong."
Hoddle has no doubts that England will be represented in Germany next summer. "I think there is no problem, we will qualify," said Hoddle. "But as for the peripheral stuff from the media, Sven will not be thinking about that.
"He has got us to a World Cup finals and a European Championship and I think he will qualify us again. "I don't see any change coming from The FA. It would be a ridiculous thing to do now with important games coming up in October. "I think they will win both games and qualify."
I personally think it is time for Sven to go. His last few months have been disasterous, Denmark and Northern Ireland results come to mind. He has had his day and now I think he should have the decentcy to resign. Wath do you think? Leave a comment.
