Barcelona striker Eidur Gudjohnsen is set to leave Barca in January to sign for either Portsmouth or Manchester City. The player who signed for the Spanish giants last season has struggled to nail down a place in Barca boss Frank Rjkaard's first team and the news of the world say he is finally willing to call it a day at the Camp Nou.Barca signed Gudjohnsen from Chelsea for a fee of around £8 million but I predict he may go for a shade lower than that, probably around the £6 million mark.
It hasn't been nice to see a player like Gudjohnsen sitting on the bench over the last year and I think he would be much better off coming back to England.The 29 year old still has three years left to run on his deal at Barca but few predict he will see out that amount of time.
Gudjohnsen would be a terrific signing and I think he will end up at Sven Goran Eriksson's Man City because Sven is desperate to bring in a quality striker in the January window and I feel Gudjohsen would fit the bill. He is the kind of player who can get you twenty goals a season and he works hard around the field in general.
