Tottenham and Blackburn have today both been linked with the signing of Fiorentina defender Tomas Ujfalusi. The players contract is set to expire at the end of this season and this has alerted the two Premier League sides. Several other top European clubs have been linked with the player including AC Milan and Juventus and Bayern Munich.Ujfalusi is a quality player and I personally would love to see him play in the Premier League. He is 29 years old and one would think that he is running out of time to join the Premier League or indeed any other league. The players agent, Dalibor Lacina has confirmed that the player will not leave the club in January but a summer move could be on the cards.
"At this moment we are registering approximately eight specific offers from top clubs. The reality is though that Tomas Ujfalusi will fulfil his contract at Fiorentina," Lacina said. "The offers of course are there but we will start discussions when Ujfalusi's contract expires. And it is not a certain if Tomas will leave Fiorentina at all." It will be interesting to see how this story develops over the next few months or so.
