Diaby, 21, signed for the Londoners in January 2006 from Auxerre and it seems that the midfielder may be on his way out two years after his arrival, having made just 30 appearances for the club. Despite his short time at the club, the Gunners number 2 has shown glimpses of brilliance, one of which coming in the 5-0 thrashing of Derby earlier this season, when the 6' 3" midfielder banged one in from 25 yards against The Rams.
Even though the reports link Diaby with London rivals Spurs, I feel that with Man City's Dietmar Hamann pushing on 35, that the Blues need a replacement for the German, the Arsenal star being the perfect man for the job. West Ham also require back up for the injury prone Scott Parker,Diaby could also be the answer to their problems. Even when Parker is fit the Frenchman would have a good chance of getting a place elsewhere in the line up.
It is thought that it will take a bid of around £7 million to persuade the Gunners to let him go, if the sale is made for that fee it will be a £5 million profit on the player over just 2 years... Nice work Arsene !!!
