Finnan Returns to Ireland squad

Republic of Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni has named a 22 man squad for the August 20 senior international friendly against Norway in Oslo.

The squad includes six players who were not involved in the May internationals against Serbia and Colombia.

Among this group is Liverpool defender Steve Finnan who has responded positively to Trapattoni's request to reverse his decision to retire from international football.

"I am happy that Steve Finnan has agreed to return to international football. He is an experienced player and he still has a lot to give to the team," said Trapattoni who added that Andy O'Brien has indicated he will not be going back on his retirement decision.
