The former Bayner Leverkusen man has been Sir Alex Ferguson's number one target for some time now after the United boss confirmed he was in the market for a new striker. Berbatov, 27, had also been linked with a move to Spanish giants Barcelona, but in the end it looks like United have prevailed.
I personally think Berbatov will be a quality signing for United although I don't know who United will start once he signs. He is a proven goalscorer at every level and I am sure United fans will be chuffed to see him arrive at Old Trafford, although I think he is worth a little less than the £28 million United have paid.
