Meanwhile, Spurs striker Jermain Defoe is staying at the club after talking with Ramos. The England striker was recently told he could leave if he wanted to but after captaining the side on Saturday against Sunderland it appears as though Ramos wants to keep him.
Portsmouth, Man City, Newcastle and Aston Villa were all said to be interested in the 25-year old but it appears as though now there hopes of signing the former West Ham star have been all but ended.
