Everton have joined Tottenham in the race to sign Middlesbrough winger Stewart Downing according to reports in the News of the World.Downing, 23, has been linked with a move to White Hart Lane in recent weeks but now it appears as though Spurs will face competition from The Toffees' for the Boro number 19.
It is thought that Boro will be looking for around £10 million for the winger and I think at that price he would be a decent signing for either Everton or Spurs.
I think that a move would probably be best for Downing 's career because at the moment he is a quality player in a fairly average side.
