Manchester City will complete the signing of West Ham midfielder Scott Parker within the next 48 hours. The England international was seen as one of the most likely candidates to leave Upton Park during this transfer window after the club admitted they would consider all offers for their players and Parker now looks certain to join City.
Parker, 28, will become City's second major signing of the window after Parker's former Chelsea team-mate Wayne Bridge joined the club yesterday. It is understood that Parker has already agreed personal terms with City, however the world's richest club have yet to agree a transfer fee with the Hammers.
As a City fan myself, I must say I am delighted to see Parker arriving. I have always been a huge fan of his and I think he will add a lot to Mark Hughes' squad. There is no doubt that Parker is one of the best midfielders in the country and I just hope he can reproduce the kind of form which he showed during his time at Charlton. With plenty more big names to arrive at Eastlands in the coming days and weeks, be sure to stay tuned to Football Corner.
