Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has been linked with want away Ajax striker Klass Jan Huntelaar and out of favour Barcelona striker Eidur Gudjohsen. Both players are likely to leave their clubs either in January or next summer and it has been rumoured that Fergie may step in and sign either of the pair.
United strikers Wayne Rooney and Carlos Tevez have been in fine form thus far this season but after the retirement of Ole Guner Solskjaer earlier this season United may need just one more striker for back up. Luis Saha has been injured for much of the season but he himself has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford.
Out of the two, I would prefer Huntelaar because he is a young and exciting talent. I would love to see Huntelaar play in the Premier League because what I have seen of him at Ajax he has been terrific. Huntelaar is obviously a quality player and United will surely face competition for the Dutchman's signature.
Gudjohsen will almost definitely move in January after a terrible 13 months or so at the Camp Nou. Since being bought last summer from Chelsea, Gudjohnsen has rarely featured in the Barcelona side and last month a senior Barca official confirmed that Gudjohnsen may be sold in January and I would rule out a move to United.
