Keane is Failing and he knows it

Sunderland manager Roy Keane has today admitted that he is failing in his role as Sunderland manager and the table proves it.

The Black Cats find themselves with only 17 points from 21 games and sitting in the dreaded drop zone.

Keane was given a lot of money to spend at the start of the season, buying no fewer than 9 players spending near on £30 million of Chairman Niall Quinn's money, and to be fair his signings haven't been the best.

Craig Gordon for £9 million. I must say when they signed Gordon at the time I tought... hmmm not bad maybe a tad overpriced. Kieran Richardson for £5.5 million. Has been injured a bit but still not up to Premier League standards in my view.

The season started full of optimism when Sunderland beat Tottenham 1-0 in the opening game,( one of the new signings, Michael Chopra on the score sheet) of the season at the Stadium of Light but since then they've only won three games and all of them have come at home.

Although I still feel Keane's job is safe, I do think he needs to spend, and spend well in this transfer window or else his first season as a manager in the Premier League will end in relagation.
