According to today's News of the World, Middlesbrough are planning a move for Atletico Madrid midfielder Maniche.The Portuguese international is currently out-of-favour at Atletico and rumour has it he is very keen to leave the club in this transfer window.
Maniche has played in the Premier League before with Chelsea and he is supposedly keen on a move back to England. Maniche would undoubtedly help have the quality to lift Boro from the wrong end of the table.
Maniche has 44 caps for Portugal and he has only made 24 appearances for Atletico since joining the club back in 2006 from Dynamo Moscow. If Boro boss, Gareth Southgate was to sign Maniche it would be a major coup for the club.
