Wanderers join the race to sign Celtic ace

According to today's Sunday Mail, Wolverhampton Wanderers are set to make a bid to bring Celtic striker Derek Riordan to Molineux.

The 24-year old has failed to make an impression at Celtic Park since joining from Hibernian two years ago and it is almost certain he will leave the club in January.

Wolves have only scored 29 goals in 26 games in the Championship this season and boss Mick McCarthy is very keen to bring another striker to the club.

Riordan is likely to cost Wolves at least £750,000 and in my view that's good value for a player that scored over 50 goals in just over 120 appearances for Hibs. I really hope Riordan leaves Celtic and gets on with his career because he's to good to be sitting on the bench every week.
