Martin O'Neill is ready to accept Liverpool's new offer for Gareth Barry after Villa virtually securing the signature of former Reading midfielder Steve Sidwell.
The Reds' offer consists of £15 million plus full back Steve Finnan in exchange for Barry's services. However, do Liverpool really need the England international? Now that it looks as though Xabi Alonso is staying, it seems pointless having players go to waste in that position.
As well as that does no one else think we're getting done out of it by giving Steve Finnan plus £15 million. O'Neill is milking us for all we're worth by selling a player which he can no longer use after they had a falling out.
